The news that Jonathan Elendu, a US based Nigerian blogger whose reports have became popular reading both in Nigeria and Abroad is currently doing the rounds. I have left messages for JE to publish his experience or deny the reports. Why would the Nigerian State Security Service, (SSS?) invite a blogger for questioning?

Beauty, thanks for taking up this story. I hope that Elendu is freed unharmed and quickly. This sort of regression should be an insult to all Nigerians, frankly. We all love the country and Elendu should not be punished for sharing his own ideas and doing quality work.
Well, thank God some other orgs are picking up the story. The more international outlets catch wind of thsi the better.
Beauty @ are you suggesting this arrest news is based on gossip and rumour? If so I find that in itself extremely disturbing.
Because the Nigerian SSS is daft. It would have been funny but they have too much power for their daftness to be amusing. This illegal detainment of Nigerian citizens HAS TO STOP.
The SSS action of detaining Elendu for days now contravene the RULE OF LAW. He should be charged to court if they are convinced he has a case to answer.
“We demand the immediate and unconditional release of Mr. Jonathan Elendu, or his arraignment before a court of competent jurisdiction, if he is suspected to have contravened any laws of the land’.
As any public official come forward to really explain why elendu was detained?
